I was born in Preston Lancashire 1946. From a child I have always enjoyed drawing and painting, with a lapse when I brought up my family. It was in my late 40’s when I moved to the Lake District that I took up painting once again. I Joined the Kendal Art Society. In 1998 I went to Kendal College and took an access course, and then The University of Central Lancashire In 2001 where I graduated with a BA Hons Fine Art Degree (2-1), and then took a Post Graduate Certificate in Education at Bolton Institute where I gained a P.G.C.E. My work experience was at Blackburn College and I taught a Summer School at Lancaster University. I have since taught in Further Education and privately for several years. I am now retired and am President of The Kendal Art Society and a member of the Green Door Studios where I exhibit regularly. I have my own studio and work from home. My recent work is abstract and semi abstract but I do the occasional representational work too.
